Hackpen Hill, Wiltshire, U.K.
That winter, 2013/2014, I was concentrating my crop circle study most of the time on chakra’s and kundalini power references. I managed to collect various crop circle designs from over the years that could well represent the seven chakra’s of the human energy system. There was, however, one particular chakra that I felt missing. The formation that I would associate with the throat-chakra wasn’t convincing enough for me. And so I mentioned to a couple of friends of mine, that for the 2014 season, it would be wonderful to see a formation that would look like a 16 petal lotus flower, thus representing the throat-chakra.
Could I believe my eyes when I saw the Hackpen Hill 2014 formation reported? Of course I could, as coincidences like these happen frequently once one is involved with crop circles!
The formation initially appeared as a sixteen petal flower with only a simple off-centre spot. Happy as I was to count these “ordered” sixteen petals, I felt at the same time somewhat disappointed about the poor quality in which they were presented. At least from the air, the formation looked quite clumsy. Already the next day, the crop circle would be completed with a moon- and a spiral-face kissing each other. It was exactly on that second day that I would connect with a wonderful sweet lady from Spain, called Veronica. That was at the Glastonbury Tor, observing the sun go down. We had an amazing romantic time together… Was I surprised to find the addition, as it was, to the flower formation? And so soon after we connected? Of course, I wasn’t! For most of my life I carry the spiral in my signature while my brand new lover appeared extremely committed to the Goddess of the Moon! So, why being surprised to see our joyful romance mirrored in the sixteen petal formation that I already considered the one for me to write or speak about?
While the formation appeared at Hackpen Hill, we both were at Glastonbury. At its first stage (July 8) we didn’t know each other. At the second stage (July 9) we were happily kissing each other. Veronica had never been much aware of the crop circle phenomenon, but this event would certainly change that for her. We went to Wiltshire to visit the place of magic on Saturday July 12th.
To my big surprise, the lay was in excellent condition! It had beautiful equal surfaces, vibrant and crispy all over the place. Here I found it was the design that looked primitive or childlike in its expression, as if the picture was cut out with some scissors, while the lay was perfect as I have rarely seen… This shows how tricky judgements can be when it comes to only watching the aerial photographs on a computer-screen. No matter how clumsy the formation looked from above, inside it was a very different story.
Considering the number sixteen that traditionally surrounds the throat-chakra, I thought for a while it mainly had to do with the increase of frequencies according the climbing along the spine. Just a technical thing as it were. It may be so, but while, from an objective point of view, there doesn’t seem much relation between the first and the second phase of the formations appearance, I started to wonder if it made sense to also interpret the “16” in a more symbolic, numerological way. In that case, we can think about the Tarot’s tower of destruction. Does it ring a bell? Tarot, tower, Tor… Anyone who visited the Tor would likely agree that this tower, which is more some kind of a ruin, can function as the model for this card. Its original church already fell by an earthquake in 1275.
What is more, the tarot card represents the Hebrew letter Pe, which stands for “mouth”. Therefore the Crowley-tarot combines the tower with the mouth. This way, it becomes clear, the sixteen of tarot corresponds not just coincidently with the sixteen petals of the throat-chakra.
Once I was back in the Netherlands, another formation was discovered in the same field. It emphasized the importance of the number 32, as it was a simple design containing thirty-two standing tufts in a circle surrounded by a ring that showed one single tuft. This formation was reported on August 6. It occurs to me the single tuft is excluded by the community of thirty-two as there’s no space for it.
All together, the feel I am left with, is that “the spiral-kisses-moon formation” tells the story of the evening sun that meets the moon, a beautiful moment of magic in time. The (kundalini-) spiral representing the evolutionary path of creation, while the moon cosmic susceptibility. We as human beings, man and woman, are honoured and able to symbolize and extend their divine majestic play by the power of love as nature provides us. It is this eternal play and the power of true and sincere innocent love that can destroy all the constructs of illusion and falsehood that we find here on earth. It can do this like lightning that hits the tower, church or castle of obsolete believe-systems or negative attachments.
I see the formation as a very lucky and happy stimulant, to express the love we have in all its purity and honesty, so that harmony will take over, quality of life will manifest. All this in tune with the greater good. I think I have spoken.
